Over a career spanning more than four decades, Mr. Lewin has founded seven technology companies, led turnarounds, managed acquisitions, and built technology organizations across the gaming, hospitality, financial services, healthcare, medical device, and retail industries. He brings executive leadership experience, deep technical knowledge, and a practical, hands-on approach to every engagement — whether advising a first-time founder, supporting a CIO with a complex implementation, or serving as an expert witness in patent litigation.

Entrepreneurship & Leadership

A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Lewin has founded seven technology startups, four of which were acquired. Notable among them are DataDesigns, Inc., a database marketing software company acquired by Group 1 Software (now a Pitney Bowes subsidiary), where he was retained as CTO following the acquisition, and Podagy, a machine learning-based mobile app designed to support behavioral weight loss, which was used in research by the Psychology Department at the University of Cambridge prior to its acquisition.

As Chief Executive and Technology Officer at NEWave, an established technology services company, Mr. Lewin led a team of 30+ employees, more than doubled company sales within 18 months, and oversaw a complete rebranding of the company.

He currently serves as Interim CEO of PneumaCare Limited, a Cambridge, UK-based medical device manufacturer. Brought in to stabilize the company, Mr. Lewin reorganized the staff, established a credible quality management system, nurtured the key opinion leader community, initiated several clinical trials and brought one to completion, and advanced the development of the company's next-generation device through the conceptual and first engineering prototype phases.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Lewin held executive and technical leadership roles at Pinnacle Entertainment, where he established the company's centralized IT department and directed its global technology strategy, as well as at Chevron Chemical Company and International Game Technology.

Consulting Expertise

As a global consultant, Mr. Lewin develops strategies for non-equity financing, product scaling, and organizational redesign — and then rolls up his sleeves to implement them. His technical expertise spans software development, database architecture, medical device design, intellectual property strategy, and CRM technology. He has also served as an expert witness in patent and software contract litigation.

Recognition & Credentials

Mr. Lewin received the 2012 Gaming and Leisure Magazine Phil LaBelle Lifetime Achievement Award and was named one of Global Gaming Business' 25 People to Watch in 2013. A published author in multiple trade publications and a named inventor on several international patents, he holds a BA in Economics from Reed College.
